Why Keyword Density Is the Most Important Strategy
Keyword density tells the search engine crawler or spider of the actual number of times the main keyword appears in the web page or an article. But please keep in mind, keywords should never be over used, but they should only be just good enough to appear at only important places and according to modern theories not more than 3 times for each 100 words of content.
The proven and acceptable measure for a keyword density is between 3% and 5%, to get picked out by the SEs and you should never use more than that.
If you keep repeating your keywords with every other word on every line, then your web site will possibly be rejected as an unreal web site or junk spam site.
Keyword density has always been expressed as a % of the total number of words content on that particular web page.
So if you currently have 100 words on your page (make a note that it does not include HMTL code that is used for writing the layout), and you add a certain key phrase for 5 times in that 100 words content. The keyword density in that web text, html, page is simply got by dividing the total number of keywords in the content (i.e.5), by the total number of normal words that appears on in your content (i.e. 100). So here if we divide 5 by 100 = .05, and since keyword density is actually represented as a percentage of the actual word count in the content, multiply the above (.05) by 100, which is 0.05×100 = 5%
Simple steps to check the density:
· Simply Copy/paste your content from the individual web page into a word-processing software system platform like Microsoft Word or Word Perfect.
· Go to the ‘Edit’ menu and click ‘Select All’.
. Now go to the ‘Tools’ menu and select ‘Word Count’. Write down the total count of words in that page.
· Now pick out the ‘Find’ function on the ‘Edit’ menu. Go to the ‘Replace’ tab and type in the keyword you prefer to find. ‘Replace’ that word with the same word, so you do not alter the text at all.
· When you have completed the replace function, the system will give you the actual count of the words you substituted. That tells the number of times you have used the keyword in your content.
· Using the full word counting for the page and the total number of keywords you will be able to calculate the keyword density.
Always keep in mind that this rule of thumb applies to each and every web page on your site and also the total word count excludes the HTML coding. It likewise applies to not just to one keyword but it also applies for a set of keywords that relates to another product or service. The keyword density should always be between 3% and 5%. These days the power article marketer use keyword density as a lethal weapon to make their articles rank extremely high on Search Engine Pages.
