Chances are pretty good that after several hours of trying to wade through all the information you r head feels like it is about to explode and you are starting to wonder if having a well ranked website is really worthwhile.
What you need to do is take a short break to clear your head and stretch your legs. Once you feel like you can think again. When you are ready to make the plunge back into learning how to optimize your website we will take it one step at a time and hopefully eliminate some of your stress.
Simplifying Algorithms
Simply put an algorithm is a formula that is the basis of all computer systems and software. Search engines like Google use algorithms because they don’t want to reward websites that are full of irrelevant information tor are link farms with high page ranking. To make sure that this doesn’t happen the search engine spiders are sent over the web site looking for specific algorithms. Every year the search engines come up with more creative algorithms to determine if a website is relevant.
So how, if the search engines are constantly updating the algorithm that they use, are you suppose to create a website that is going to rank in the top ten. By creating an easily navigated website that is full of keywords/keywords phrases, has large amounts of relevant content, and using your inbound and outbound links.
Create Keywords
The first thing you will want to do is think about what keywords and keyword phrases best describe the product or service that you are trying to market on your website. For example if you are selling apple cider the keywords you might want to use are apple cider, fresh apple cider, homemade apple cider, cider from apples, and farm grown apple cider.
Write Articles
Now that you have come up with several keywords you should start writing articles that you can post on your website. Make sure that you incorporate at least one of your keywords or phrases into each of the articles. Make sure that the articles are well researched and well written.
Establish Links
When you are talking to other webmasters about exchanging inbound and outbound links you should make sure that they are going to post your keywords in the text that accompanies the link. This text is almost as critical to improving your websites page ranking as the link itself. When you are swapping links make sure that the website you are linking to already enjoys an elevated page ranking, the higher their page ranking the more yours will improve.
